Raising awareness and funds for Parkinson’s
August 2018
Parkies Pals at The Shrivenham Fete
Parkies Pals had a stall at The Shrivenham Fete on 27th August 2018 to raise awareness of Parkinson’s to the wider community; to unite local people with and without PD in support and friendship through the Parkies Pals group and to inform all of the activities and support of Parkinson’s UK, with material from the local Swindon branch as well as the National Parkinson’s UK organisation.
Lindsey Skelt and I manned the stall with a ‘bubbles or bubbly’ tombola and a friend, Justine Abrahams of Orchid Therapeutics offered chair massages and donated her takings from this fabulous service. We raised a total of £142 for Parkinson’s UK.
I met 3 more people with Parkinson’s who are going to come along to our next coffee morning and share experiences and support each other. Overall a very successful day.
