Anyone for Tea?

June 2018

Parkies Pals raised £753 for Parkinson’s UK at their Garden Gathering event on 9th June in Shrivenham. This was the 1st major event organised by myself and my amazing Parkies Pals. Advertised as Afternoon Tea over 70 people joined us in a friend’s garden for Prosecco Cream Teas, cakes, raffles and sunny weather.

A beautiful selection of musical entertainment was supplied by the Ukulele band, U3ukes, and singer Lauren Durrant.

I was totally overwhelmed with the whole occasion, it was fabulous to see so many local people coming together and some valuable contacts made amongst other Parkinson’s sufferers and families who were previously unknown to each other.

The idea of Parkies Pals is to unite people with and without PD in support and friendship whilst raising awareness of this most frustrating and debilitating condition through café meet ups, fundraising and sponsored events.
